What a blast (from the past). 35 gassers present, all lined up on the track saturday evening. Lots of great people and a fantastic atmosphere. The most amazing event I have been to, EVER. Thumbs up for all of those who made this weekend a memory for life. I will definately be back for the European Bug-In #2.

 

      

Four Play ran constant low 12s all weekend except for one 11,96 run. I actually made it to the final in the elimination, but lost it beacuse I missed second gear. Four Play also won the "cool aircooled dragracer" price at the show.

But the best part of it is that the car is still running perfectly. Just need to replace those soft tortion bars, as you can see from these pictures. Bug-In, here we come :-)

The left axle that broke of.

 

 

During last winter, I had the engine totally rebuilt with new heads, 52 Gene Berg Carburators, and a 1 7/8 exhaust system from A1. The car was dynoed in April to 234 hp @ 6240 RPM, and 285 nm @ 5420 RPM.

I tested the car at Gardermoen Raceway 12-13th may, and on my first pass out, the car did a 11,81 @ 178 km/h run. Unfortunately, one of the gearbox axles broke of on the fifth run, but new Karpiola axles has allready been bought.

Next race is at Mantorp Park in Sweden, at Scandinavias biggest VW event Bug Run.

At the Scandinavian Cal-look Classic, I was finally abled to test the car. I made four runs down the track, with a 12,85, 13,00, 12,25 and 12,27 run. Not bad at all.

  

Most of the 2006 season went by with lots of trouble. Four Play was ready for Bug Run in Sweden in june, but the engine broke down during testing, one hour before the race started. Back on the trailer again. No fun this weekend. 

 

Four Play was originally built by Adam Sheard, and made its debut at the Volksworld show in 2004. I bought this car in march 2006 as a "rolling chassie".
